The decor trends 2025 are set to be rich and varied, reflecting a true creative boldness. It’s time to take stock of the inspirations that will guide us for this new year.
Discover the 10 decor trends to follow in 2025.
Furniture with playful design
Even though organic shapes are still in vogue, furniture is now adorned with even more playful shapes for our greatest delight.
The Camaleonda sofa designed by Mario Bellini in 1970 is a beautiful example. Its lovely curves and very graphic side make it a strong piece with personality. Today, many designers draw inspiration from it to create trendy sofas that are comfortable and playful.
Chromed minimalism
Chrome, already in vogue in 2024, will continue to assert itself, bringing a touch of modernity and elegance to interiors. It now dresses small furniture like side tables or coffee tables; as well as accessories like desk lamps. In terms of finishes, it can be found in both brushed and shiny.
Ode to muted colors
Muted colors have always been very popular, especially among architects and interior decorators. But this year, we are using and abusing these shades that have a slight hint of black. The result: a deep color that absorbs light and thus offers a lot of power and character to the room.
I particularly love it in an entryway, to create a “wow” effect, or in a bedroom, to bring a very soothing aspect.
The comeback of Plexiglass
Long neglected, Plexiglass is making a comeback and brings a wave of modernity. We embrace its artificial side, as it allows for a certain contrast in interiors dominated by wood and other natural materials.
Let’s say that in small doses, it will catch the eye without making us scream blasphemy.
Mix & match of patterns and textures
Because overly flat and smooth interiors are hard on the eyes, we dare to mix & match beautiful patterns. However, be careful not to fall into kitsch style. Whether for fabrics, wallpaper, or tiles, it is important to find a certain balance.
The same goes for textures, which help to bring depth to a space. For example, one can opt for a seat in boucle, with linen curtains and wall decor in wood or tufting. Then, objects with lacquered or brushed finishes.
Warm shades are in the spotlight
This year again, warm shades are in the spotlight. Thus, brown, terracotta, burgundy, and violet are making their way into our interiors and bringing a lot of character.
Contrary to what one might think, these colors are easy to tame. Very elegant and timeless, they will be enhanced by touches of black or white, but they can also be used with other colors, such as mustard yellow or khaki green for a unique and bold style.
Tiles in all their forms
Some may find it too cold, yet tiles are now finding their place outside of kitchens and bathrooms and not just on floors. Indeed, one can imagine a tiled fireplace in the living room, or to create a demarcation at the head of a bed in the bedroom.
In addition to offering a wide choice in terms of patterns and graphics, tiles also provide a certain texture depending on whether they are matte or glossy, like zellige for example.
Floors dressed in carpet
Carpet, long neglected in favor of parquet, is making a notable return in our interiors. In 2025, it regains its place by offering comfort, sound insulation, and a unique warmth underfoot.
This covering is modernizing with more elegant textures and bold patterns that add real personality to the room it occupies.
We integrate works of art
For some time now, there has been a real desire to integrate works of art into one’s interior decoration. This can be a sculpture placed on the coffee table in the living room, a painting created by a contemporary artist, or an antique tapestry found at a flea market. Here, the term “work of art” has no monetary value. It is more about finding a unique object (or a limited series) that will add charm to the decor.
Rugs reveal their potential
An essential element in a bedroom or living room, rugs have long been plain or devoid of textures. Recently, publishing houses have started creating trendy rugs that are extraordinary in terms of textures, colors, or shapes.
